create a system of modular or stand-alone privacy screens that provide shade or divide up spaces using large patterned panels.

simple and durable

The system was meant to be simple in design and construction as well as durable. This project was the first time I got to work alongside engineers and work with Finite Element Analysis to determine the structural limits of our product. This was informative and helped me learn more about the structural qualities of manufacturing processes.

One of the patterns was created by a previous designer and there were concerns about the manufacturability and cost effectiveness of the pattern created; therefore, I was tasked with creating a pattern that would be easier and cheaper to manufacture but also fit multiple sizes of panels and was distinctly different from the other two patterns created by the other industrial designer on staff.
